HOUSTON, September 28, 2004 - AT&T has appointed John S. Griffin to the position of regional vice president. Griffin will manage sales teams in Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Missouri, Tennessee and Kentucky responsible for selling AT&T services and building customer relationships in AT&T’s signature sales segment.

For the past two years, Griffin led the team based in Houston responsible for providing the sales and networking needs of some of the world’s largest multinational companies, with an emphasis on the energy, petrochemical and manufacturing industries.

“John continues to be focused on helping AT&T’s business customers increase the efficiency and agility of their networks while improving services and reducing costs, said Ron Spears, president of AT&T’s Signature Client Group. “In this new role, John will be instrumental in helping AT&T strengthen its leadership position as the world’s networking company.”

Griffin joined AT&T more than 17 years ago and has held numerous leadership positions that span the company’s sales and marketing functions. These include sales and sales organization management, product management, customer care operations, market segmentation, channel distribution strategy, wholesale services and international services.  He will continue to be based in Houston.
