ENTRY DEADLINE APPROACHES FOR NATION’S BIGGEST SINGLE-STYLE BREWING COMPETITION
Tenth Annual Big Batch Brew Bash Attracts Large Field of Entrants
HOUSTON, May 19, 2005 – Homebrewers have just a few days to complete their concoctions for the 10th Annual Big Batch Brew Bash, the biggest single style brewing competition in America. The deadline for entries is May 27, 2005. This year, contestants are submitting their best Brown or Robust Porter for judging.
The competition is free to enter, but restricted to those 21 or older. Each entry must consist of three bottles along with a completed recipe form. Recipe forms are available at www.thekgb.org or by calling 281-397-9411.
Judging will take place on June 5, 2005, followed by a public celebration at Saint Arnold Brewing Company at Noon. The winner will join the crew at Saint Arnold Brewing as “Brewer For A Day.” They will assist in brewing a big batch of one of Saint Arnold’s award-winning microbrews. Winners will be announced at 3:30 p.m.
Saint Arnold Brewing has been involved with the Big Batch Brew Bash since its inception. One year’s winning entry served as the basis for Saint Arnold Winter Stout, one of the brewery’s five seasonal offerings.
“Throughout Texas and the rest of the country, there has been a steady increase in appreciation for the craftsmanship involved in brewing full flavored beers,” said Saint Arnold founder Brock Wagner. “We expect to attract a record number of entrants for the 10th annual Big Batch Brew Bash.”
Sanctioned by the American Homebrewers Association and organized by the Kuykendahl Gran Brewers, the 10th Annual Big Batch Brew Bash is supported by Saint Arnold Brewing, The Brew Stop and DeFalco’s Home Wine & Beer Supplies.
