Alert Logic Completes Acquisition of Armorlogic to expand Web Application Security Offerings
Addition of Profense™ Web application firewall (WAF) satisfies compliance mandates, protects against application layer threats
HOUSTON – February 22, 2012 – Alert Logic, the leader in delivering Security-as-a-Service for the cloud, today announced the completion of the acquisition of Armorlogic (www.armorlogic.com), a leading developer of Web application security solutions. Alert Logic will combine the leading blocking capabilities of Armorlogic Profense WAF with its own proven Security-as-a-Service model to simultaneously increase the effectiveness and decrease the cost of deploying WAF solutions.
The addition of Armorlogic’s Web application security offerings to Alert Logic’s Security-as-a-Service solutions will provide partners and customers a fully managed security solution for their Web-facing applications. An analysis of security events observed by Alert Logic found that Web application attacks are among the most common threats facing IT infrastructure, particularly infrastructure in hosted and cloud environments. Profense WAF complies with PCI DSS section 6.6, and provides web application security protection against the OWASP Top Ten critical risks facing organizations, including SQL Injection, Cross Site Scripting (XSS) and other threats.
