Technology Enhancement and Job Growth the Focus of International Web Site

HOUSTON, Oct. 16, 2006 – The newly established India Supply Chain Council™ in Mumbai expects the Internet to fuel rapid growth and has selected the Tendenci association management system to power its Web site. The site, www.supplychains.in, will provide a platform for members to share and implement ideas about technology growth in India.

Tendenci, which automates and simplifies many of the functions of association management, was designed and is marketed by Houston-based Schipul – The Web Marketing Company, a leading worldwide provider of Web-based solutions for membership organizations. This is the latest of a growing number of international organizations turning to Tendenci to satisfy their association management needs.

Tendenci’s integrated Content Management System enables the India Supply Chain Council to easily update Web content without going through a third party. It also encourages distributed authoring among site administrators and registered users. The Council also utilizes Tendenci’s study groups and forums functions to facilitate online knowledge sharing and career development among groups such as information technology and software, high-tech, freight forwarders, and healthcare, pharmaceutical and retail professionals.

“Supply chain and logistics are at the forefront of foreign-invested and local companies operating in India, so it is essential that our Web site make it easy for executives to collaborate for education and networking,” said Max Henry, founder and executive director of the India Supply Chain Council. “By making up-to-date information and resources easily accessible online, we help remove the barriers that stand in the way of international commerce.”

In addition to offering prospective members the ease and convenience of applying online, the Council’s site includes a vendor directory, a career center where job openings are listed and resumes can be posted, a calendar of upcoming events and a research library.
