BioHouston Selects Tendenci® Software for Do-It-Yourself Simplicity

HOUSTON, June 18, 2008 – BioHouston has selected the Tendenci Membership Management Software to power its new Web site, www.biohouston.org. Tendenci (www.tendenci.com), which provides a wide array of do-it-yourself Web development functionality, enables the BioHouston staff to efficiently maintain and update the organization’s Web presence.

BioHouston, Inc. is leading a broad effort to establish the Houston region as a global competitor in life science and biotechnology commercialization. Its new Web site plays a central role in facilitating connections and communications amongst the region’s biotech industry.

“Our mission of advocating life science and biotechnology is enormous, but as a small and efficient operation we rely on Tendenci’s ability to automate tasks and capture data to make our lives easier,” said Tim Graves, operations manager with BioHouston. “Tendenci allows us to build our own Web site, create pages and edit site navigation while also gaining access to leading edge Web marketing capabilities.”

Tendenci incorporates user-friendly features, such as event registration, promotion and management, easy-to-use online photo albums, the ability to post jobs, and email marketing with e-newsletter creation and distribution. Together, these capabilities make it possible for BioHouston to enhance the user’s online experience and to facilitate connections and communications amongst the region’s biotech industry.

Tendenci’s built-in content management system (CMS) allows multiple site administrators to easily add and edit content without the inconvenience of going through a Web site administrator.

BioHouston is the fifth regional technology center across the country to select Tendenci to power its Web site. Others include Houston Technology Center (www.houstontech.org), TechColumbus (www.techcolumbus.org) in Ohio, the Louisiana Technology Council (www.ltc-la.org), and the Hampton Roads Technology Center (www.hrtc.org) in Virginia.

Tendenci is developed by Schipul – The Web Marketing Company (www.schipul.com), a leading provider of Web-based solutions for membership organizations.
