New Communications Platform Startup, Bit6, Selected as Finalist for HATCH Pitch Competition at SXSW Interactive
Bit6 revolutionizes how developers can quickly and easily integrate communications into their apps
HOUSTON, March 4, 2014 – Bit6, a pre-launch company that will revolutionize how developers integrate communications into their apps, has been selected as a finalist for the 2014 HATCH Pitch Startup Competition at SXSW Interactive. Bit6 and 11 other finalists were selected from entries from early stage tech startups from 14 countries and 17 states across the U.S.
Bit6 provides a real-time cloud-based communications platform enabling developers to quickly and easily integrate proven voice/video calling, texting and multimedia messaging into their apps. In addition, Bit6 provides a suite of essential application integration modules including Identity Management, Social Map, and Virtual Wallet to help integrate the communication capabilities into a complete end-user experience. The company was spun off from Voxofon (www.voxofon.com), a rapidly growing provider of mobile apps utilizing over-the-top (OTT) voice and messaging services. By offering access to the underlying communications platform that has made Voxofon successful, Bit6 expects to do to communications what Google Maps and PayPal have done for maps and payments.

During the HATCH Pitch Competition on March 10th, each finalist will have four minutes to convince a panel of judges that their innovative idea is making life better, is scalable and sustainable, and their founders and team are great.

The 21st annual SXSW Interactive Festival is an incubator of leading-edge technologies and digital creativity and HATCH Pitch is one of the most popular events in the Startup Village session, attracting hundreds of entrepreneurs and investors. The final pitches will be given on Monday March 10 from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Hilton Austin Downtown. The event is open to all SXSW Interactive Gold or Platinum badge holders.
