Ed Schipul to Present At 2006 American Creativity Association International Conference

CEO of Schipul – The Web Marketing Company to demonstrate how to integrate blogs, vlogs, podcasting, wikis, tagging and RSS into creative solutions

HOUSTON, JAN. 9, 2006 – Ed Schipul, founder and CEO of Schipul – The Web Marketing Company (www.schipul.com), will present “Trends in Creative Technology: Harnessing the Chaos to Encourage Collaboration and Engagement,” at Creativity @ Work, the 2006 American Creativity Association International Conference. The event is scheduled March 22 – 24 at Hilton Austin Airport in Austin , Texas.

The focus of Creativity @ Work will be on how creativity can be applied to help all sectors of society to address current and future challenges and opportunities. The conference is expected to attract creative professionals from business, education and the arts.

Schipul’s presentation will focus on the rapid, widespread adoption of emerging technologies that enable Web users to add and edit content. He will examine the impact of user-generated content, such as blogs, vlogs, podcasting, wikis and tagging, and explore how collaboration through the Web can help users share and build knowledge.

“While users once visited Web sites to strictly consume content, they are increasingly being given the ability to contribute and edit content as well,” Schipul said. “I look forward to exploring how this ‘distributed authoring’ is fostering social networks and changing the fundamental way Web users interact with Web sites. We’ll also examine whether it is appropriate for organizations to harness these powers to achieve their own objectives.”
