Hampton Roads Technology Council Grows Virginia High-Tech Community with Tendenci® Software

HAMPTON ROADS, Va., Aug. 9, 2007 – Another regional information technology association has selected the Tendenci association management software suite (www.tendenci.com) to power its Web site. The Hampton Roads Technology Council (HRTC) recently launched its new, more robust and interactive site, www.hrtc.org. Other Tendenci-driven technology centers include the Houston Technology Center (www.houstontech.org), the Louisiana Technology Council (www.ltc-la.org) and TechColumbus (www.techcolumbus.org).

HRTC serves as the technology nerve center for southeastern Virginia, supporting the growth of the region’s technology economy and community through educational initiatives, tech resource connection and networking events. HRTC’s new Web site delivers numerous user-friendly features, such as an online calendar for technology event promotion, online registration and payment, and automated e-mails to alert members about news they care about.

“Having a strong, vibrant Web presence is everything to us, and Tendenci makes it easy for everyone who cares about technology in and around Hampton Roads to communicate, participate and connect online,” said Tim Early, President of HRTC. “The simplicity of the software ensures that our site will always be up-to-date and fresh with minimum hassle, while its community-focused communication tools ensure that our members will stay actively engaged with HRTC.”

Tendenci’s built-in Content Management System simplifies HRTC Web updates with its flexible and user-friendly interface. Multiple site administrators can easily add and edit content without the inconvenience of going through a Web site administrator.

The HRTC Web site further supports the growth of southeastern Virginia’s tech economy through its robust job board and resume posting modules. By providing a central location for qualified job applicants and available job opportunities, the HRTC site makes it possible for members, local technologists and area companies to connect with each other and advance the region’s tech-based economy.

Tendenci was created by Schipul – The Web Marketing Company (www.schipul.com), a leading worldwide provider of Web-based solutions for membership organizations. The Web-based system automates and simplifies many of the functions of association management and serves as a powerful component of client organizations’ online marketing campaigns.
