Houston Landscapes Unlimited Selected to Beautify Landscape Areas Surrounding Reliant Stadium In Advance of Big Game

HOUSTON, December  23 , 2003 - As beautification efforts throughout Greater Houston kick into overdrive, Houston Landscapes Unlimited has been entrusted with the most important beautification project of all. Harris County Sports & Convention Corporation has selected Houston Landscapes Unlimited to make the area surrounding Reliant Stadium look super.

Houston Landscapes Unlimited crews have overseeded the turf surrounding the stadium with rye grass to quickly return the lawn to a dark green color. They also will be planting new trees, new shrubs and new flowers, and installing a new irrigation system at each of the three main entryways to Reliant Park: the area at Kirby and McKee, the entrance at Kirby and Westridge, and the entrance at Holly Hall and Fannin.

"We''re proud and humbled to be doing work that will be seen by hundreds of millions of people around the world," said Dean Carpenter, founder and president of Houston Landscapes Unlimited. "I can''t imagine a more important landscape project. We will do super work that will make all Houstonians proud."

Houston Landscapes Unlimited, which installed the original landscaping and irrigation around Reliant Stadium and has the ongoing landscape maintenance contract for Reliant Park, also has agreed to donate 5,000 red, white and blue flowers for the beautification effort.

"We selected Houston Landscapes Unlimited because of their passion and outstanding track record," said Mike Surface, chairman of Harris County Sports & Convention Corporation. "With the expertise of Houston Landscapes Unlimited, visitors arriving at Reliant Stadium or viewing the stadium on television, will see Houston at its best."

"We consider the big game to be an opportunity for Houston to sell itself to the world and, as is the case with any property, the landscaping around Reliant Stadium will have a tremendous impact on our curb appeal," said SMG Director of Outside Operations Chris Pezman, the management company for Reliant Park. "Our grounds are high profile and Houston Landscapes Unlimited is the right team for this high priority beautification goal."

Houston Landscapes Unlimited, based in Sugar Land, was established in 1983. Today it is a full service landscape and irrigation company that offers beautification services along with installation, landscape management and irrigation services.
