Launch of ParkHub.com Brings Online Reservation System to the Parking Lot

ParkHub.com eliminates the hassles of comparing parking options and reserving a spot

ParkHub.com online parking reservation systemDALLAS, December 30, 2011 – The parking industry has traditionally relied on signs and people waving colorful flags to attract parking patrons, but ParkHub.com (www.ParkHub.com) is a game changer. Featuring an online reservation system modeled after the way travelers make reservations for plane tickets and hotel rooms, ParkHub.com makes it easy to compare the cost and location of car parking options, reserve a parking space and pay online.

The ParkHub.com management team consists of Chief Executive Officer and parking industry veteran George Baker, event ticket industry leader Hank Wendorf and technology expert Allan Restrepo. To date, the service has signed up more than 1,200 registered users and offers event parking in Arlington, Dallas and Houston, Texas as well as in St. Louis, Mo.

The goal of revolutionizing the parking industry seemed obvious to Baker who has more than 15 years experience managing parking lots for events and businesses, and comes from a parking industry family that has owned and operated parking lots for 40 years. Although the parking industry and the travel industry are similar, nobody has effectively used technology to improve the customer experience or better manage parking inventory and pricing.

“It is amazing that people usually have no idea where they are going to park or how much it will cost before heading to a sporting event or concert,” said Baker. “With ParkHub.com’s online parking reservation system, we eliminate the hassle and uncertainty by making it easy, safe and secure to reserve a parking spot that meets the customer’s exact requirements. Purchase. Print. Park. It really is that easy.”

According to the “Parking in America” survey report recently released by the National Parking Association, revenues are down industry-wide due to the sputtering economy. Baker says it is a perfect environment for innovation. Just as Expedia made it possible for airlines to fill seats and adjust prices dynamically based on demand, ParkHub.com will offer parking lot owners and managers greater flexibility while filling spaces.

“Parking lot owners like it because it is easy to login and change prices and availability,” said Baker. “The system has worked great for managing and selling parking inventory for the World Series, Big XII Championship and the NFL, NBA and NHL seasons. We expect a lot of interest for the Cotton Bowl and the NFL’s Big Game in Arlington.”

ParkHub.com currently enables users to compare parking options before heading to sporting events, concerts and shows at Cowboys Stadium and Rangers Ballpark in Arlington, American Airlines Center in Dallas, Minute Maid Ballpark in Houston, and Edward Jones Dome and Scottrade Center in St. Louis. The ParkHub.com team plans to expand to more venues and release a mobile app in the coming months.
