New Web Site Helps Brennan’s of Houston Build Excitement for Houston Reopening

Brennan's of HoustonHOUSTON, January 19, 2010 – Brennan’s of Houston has taken another major step toward reopening, launching a new interactive Web site, www.brennanshouston.com, powered by Tendenci® online management software (www.tendenci.com). Designed by Schipul – The Web Marketing Company (www.schipul.com), the new Web site is building excitement and keeping customers informed during the final weeks of renovation.

Brennan’s of Houston’s location at 3300 Smith Street has been closed since September 2008 when a two-alarm fire along with the whipping winds of Hurricane Ike left a brick shell of ashes. The launch of its new Web site is a way to stay connected and relevant despite the nearly 18 month closure.

“We are in the memory business, so it is great to have this interactive platform that enables customers to submit personal notes that describe the great memories they have,” said Cecily Nichols, office manager for Brennan’s of Houston. “We chose Schipul for the project after an exhaustive review because we wanted the best Web marketing company. The end result is simple and elegant, yet extremely powerful.”

Once the Brennan’s of Houston is reopened, customers will be able to make reservations, review an up-to-date menu or submit feedback through the new Web site. Tendenci’s online calendar and event management capabilities make it easy for Brennan’s of Houston’s staff to schedule upcoming cooking classes, promote them with a few mouse clicks and allow customers to register and pay online.

Brennan’s of Houston also plans to sell books and gift cards online, which will extend the restaurant’s reach nationwide, matching its coast-to-coast reputation. With Tendenci’s easy-to-use content management system (CMS), Brennan’s of Houston’s employees can spice up the site by adding and editing content without going through a third party.

“Brennan’s of Houston is using interactive and social technologies to weave customers into the fabric of their brand by posting photos of their rebuilding and showcasing memories submitted by customers,” said Schipul – The Web Marketing Company founder and President Ed Schipul. “We are proud to be selected by a Houston institution like Brennan’s of Houston and look forward to playing a role in their future success.”
