New York Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Chooses Tendenci® Association Management Software

NEW YORK CITY, March 14, 2007 – With the Web profoundly changing television and visual media, the New York Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has launched a new, more robust Web site powered by Tendenci association management software. The new site, www.nyemmys.org, integrates numerous user-friendly features to enhance the online experience and communications of Chapter members and to encourage the exploration of online media.

Tendenci association management software is developed and marketed by Houston-based Schipul – The Web Marketing Company (www.schipul.com), a leading worldwide provider of Web-based solutions for associations and other membership organizations.

Although best known for its prestigious Emmy® Awards, the New York Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences offers a broad range of services in support of its mission, which is to build understanding of and interest in the arts, crafts and sciences of television. To that end, the New York Chapter has coordinated more than 200 events over the past 15 months.

With Tendenci, the Chapter’s new Web site simplifies event management, automating many functions of event promotion, registration and payment. The new system makes it easy to keep the online calendar of upcoming events up-to-date, while offering the ability to send e-newsletter updates and e-mail reminders with just a few mouse clicks.

“Tendenci makes online association management easy, with a user-managed membership profile, online payment for membership and renewal, as well as offering opportunities to generate new revenues with services such as a business directory,” said Jacqueline Gonzalez, Executive Director of the National Television Academy’s New York Chapter. “Our focus has been on making our Web site the best tool for our members and building in the flexibility to adapt quickly as new technologies go mainstream.”

Tendenci’s built-in Content Management System offers maximum flexibility. It enables multiple site administrators to easily add and edit content without the inconvenience of going through a Web site administrator. Tendenci can even enable users to easily post and comment on video content.

“The Web is radically changing how video content is created, disseminated and consumed,” Gonzalez said. “Our Web site needs to reach out to and embrace new media pioneers while helping the rest of us keep pace with the changes.”
