Saint Arnold Brewing Company Unveils Divine Reserve No. 6

American Barleywine Expected to Sell Out Quickly After June 12th Introduction

Saint Arnold Divine Reserve No. 6, credit Joel DentonHOUSTON, June 9, 2008 - Saint Arnold Brewing Company (www.saintarnold.com), the oldest craft brewery in Texas, is preparing to introduce the latest edition of its small batch series of craft beer styles, Saint Arnold Divine Reserve No. 6 on June 12th and 13th. But don't blink. Saint Arnold Divine Reserve is brewed in very limited quantities and sells out at most locations in a day or two.

Saint Arnold Divine Reserve No. 6 is an American Barleywine, which is among the strongest of the beer styles. Although the barleywine style originated more than 100 years ago, San Francisco's Anchor Brewing is widely credited with popularizing the American Barleywine style when it released Old Foghorn in 1975.

"Saint Arnold Divine Reserve No. 6 builds on the tradition of American craft brewers and the result is special treat for anyone who enjoys a big, strong, high-quality beer," said Brock Wagner, Founder/Brewer of Saint Arnold Brewing. "We loaded it up with hops, so it is intense, but it is amazingly balanced and wonderfully full-bodied. We are very proud of it."

Despite a worldwide shortage of hops, the 120-barrel recipe features 225 pounds of hops. In fact, the hops in Saint Arnold Divine Reserve cost more than all the ingredients in earlier versions of the Divine Reserve series.

As is the case with each edition of the series, Saint Arnold Divine Reserve No. 6 features a unique recipe and is distinguished from earlier versions by the batch number on the neck label. Saint Arnold Brewing produced fewer than 1,200 cases and a very limited supply of kegs of Saint Arnold Divine Reserve No. 6. It is expected to arrive at select stores in Houston, Austin, San Antonio and Dallas/Fort Worth on June 12 and 13. Each six pack is priced at approximately $15.

With a high alcohol by volume content of 10 percent, Saint Arnold Divine Reserve No. 6 is best enjoyed in small quantities at 45°F or warmer. It has an original gravity of 1.094 and final gravity of 1.019. More information on Divine Reserve No. 6 can be found at http://saintarnold.com/beers/divine.html.
