Save Space in the Fridge for Saint Arnold Winter Stout

No Additives or Preservatives in Latest Seasonal from Oldest Craft Brewery in Texas

HOUSTON, Dec. 3, 2007 – Refrigerators can get crowded this time of year, which is why Texas beer lovers are organizing the shelves to make room for the latest seasonal offering from Saint Arnold Brewing Company (www.saintarnold.com). A limited supply of Saint Arnold Winter Stout will begin arriving in stores, restaurants and bars on or around December 21, 2007. It replaces the diminishing supplies of Saint Arnold Christmas Ale.

Originally introduced by Saint Arnold Brewing in early 1997, Saint Arnold Winter Stout’s recipe was based on the winning entry from the 1996 Big Batch Brew Bash homebrew competition. The result is a creamy, full bodied sweet stout with subtle chocolate and coffee flavors and a well balanced soft roastiness. Recommended pairings include chocolate pudding cake, raw oysters and roasted nuts.

Saint Arnold Winter Stout is loosely filtered to preserve a rich mouthfeel which is particularly satisfying during the colder months – or weeks, depending on where in Texas you live.

“We are proud that Saint Arnold Winter Stout is pure, with no additives or preservatives,” said Brock Wagner, founder of Saint Arnold Brewing Company. “Many of our stout’s subtle flavors are delicate and would not stand up to the heat of pasteurization, so we do not pasteurize our stout, which helps to achieve the freshest flavor possible.”

Saint Arnold Winter Stout was recognized with the Silver Medal at the 2000 Great American Beer Festival in the Sweet Stout category. Beginning on or around December 21, it will be available on tap and in 12-ounce bottles sold in six-packs and cases. It will be available throughout Texas at grocery and liquor stores, bars and restaurants.

Saint Arnold Winter Stout should be stored cold at 45 degrees to avoid any degradation of flavor. The beer’s alcohol content by volume is 5.6 percent and it has an original gravity of 1.061. More information on Saint Arnold Winter Stout can be found at http://saintarnold.com/beers/stout.html.
