Voxofon Breaks Into Top 50 of Most Popular Social Networking Apps on iTunes

Positive Reviews of Upgraded iOS 7 App Spark Increased Download Volume

Voxofon-Top-50.pngHOUSTON, October 8, 2013 -- While Facebook, Vine and Twitter remain atop the iTunes chart for top free social networking apps, a new face has broken into the top 50: Voxofon. The rapidly growing provider of over-the-top (OTT) voice and messaging services has experienced a surge in popularity since rolling out a significant facelift to its user interface in conjunction with adding app support for the Apple iOS 7 platform. Voxofon version 5.0 was released less than three weeks ago.

The popular new features and streamlined user experience resonate with customers, who continue to leave positive reviews and give Voxofon for iOS 7 a user rating of 4.5 stars. The enhancements make it easier than ever to call, text, and organize contacts. The new user interface offers German and Spanish localization, and makes it possible for users to quickly access contacts they can call for free or an international list of contacts. It also eliminates the complexities of calling internationally by offering dialing tips from within the app.

"Watching Voxofon climb the app charts is a lot like a band watching their single climb the music charts -- it is just great to get positive feedback from the user community and it makes us want to deliver more enhancements in the near future," said Alexey Goloshubin, CEO and co-founder of Voxofon. "We are planning on releasing an iPad-optimized version along with additional UI updates and Korean localization in the coming weeks."

Voxofon, which is among the fast growing providers of OTT voice and messaging services with nearly 1 million registered users, considers Korea a major market opportunity. Korea is among the top countries in terms of smartphone penetration with 73 percent and is one of the most active users of OTT communication apps. In comparison, smartphone penetration in the U.S. is less than 57 percent.

Voxofon has been focused on simplicity and flexibility to differentiate its app from other voice and messaging services. In addition to smartphones, Voxofon's apps can be used for international and domestic voice and messaging on feature phones, landlines, PCs and tablets. With Voxofon's iOS app, even wifi-enabled music players such as the Apple iPod touch® can send and receive calls and text messages from friends, family and business associates around the world.
