Schipul Helps Bayou City Arts Festival Grab Attention with New Tendenci®-Powered Web Site

Website offers preview of what festival goers will see and experience at bi-annual festivals

HOUSTON, September 28, 2010 – The Art Colony Association, which produces high quality art festivals and events to provide financial support to Houston-area non-profit organizations, has selected Tendenci® (www.tendenci.com) online management software to power the new website for Bayou City Arts Festival, www.bayoucityartfestival.com. The new website plays an important role in promoting Bayou City Art Festival Downtown in the fall and Bayou City Art Festival Memorial Park in the spring.

The Art Colony Association is in the final stages of preparing for the 39th Annual Bayou City Art Festival Downtown, one of the nation’s premier fall outdoor juried fine arts events. The new website, designed by Schipul - The Web Marketing Company (www.schipul.com), makes it easy to purchase tickets online, search for and connect with participating artists, and plan your visit with helpful maps for how to get there, where to park and where to go when you get to the festival.

“We have appreciated Schipul’s technical and aesthetic expertise, as well as strategic guidance during the development of our new website,” said Kim Stoilis, executive director of Bayou City Art Festival. “Our website is the single most important information portal for promoting our bi-annual festivals and the Schipul team has gone above and beyond to meet our needs.”

Tendenci’s membership management capabilities make it possible for arts enthusiasts to apply online for a Limited Founders Membership and pay dues online safely and securely. Artists who are participating in the upcoming festival are using Tendenci’s integrated photo album to bring their creative works to life and pique the interest of festival goers. The photo album provides a simple way to upload photos and add captions, which can aid in search engine performance as well.

The organization is also using Tendenci’s press release and online calendar modules, which make it easy to post news announcements and promote upcoming activities. Tendenci also enables site users to subscribe to be alerted to updates through the integrated Really Simple Syndication (RSS).
