Tendenci Helps Night Stalkers Association Take Aim at Membership Management Success

Tendenci® Open Source CMS Platform Powers Website for Nonprofit War Veterans Organization

NSA-Website.jpgHOUSTON, May 20, 2014 – The Night Stalker Association, a non-profit organization (NPO) devoted to soldiers of the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (Airborne) and their families, has partnered with Tendenci (www.tendenci.com) to launch a different type of air offensive. Their upgraded website, http://www.nsa160.com, powered by the Tendenci® Open Source Content Management System (CMS), is aimed at increasing visibility, boosting membership and improving connections among its members.

“We are very proud that Tendenci is being used to support our military, both active and retired, by powering the new website for the Night Stalker Association,” said Ed Schipul, founder and president of Tendenci, the software development company spearheading the Tendenci Open Source CMS project. “The Night Stalker Association is a great example of how NPOs use Tendenci to advance their mission through increased visibility and revenue, and improved connections online.”

Tendenci Open Source CMS is built to meet the unique needs of associations and other NPOs. The Night Stalker Association’s new website takes advantage of many of Tendenci’s distinctive capabilities, including membership management, donor and fundraising management, online event management and rich media management. Since the upgraded website launched, the Night Stalker Association has reconnected with alumni, experienced a notable increase in membership and generated tens of thousands of dollars in incremental revenue.

“As soon as we flipped the switch on the Tendenci website, the Night Stalker Association jumped to a higher level of professionalism and efficiency,” said Vincent Reap, President of the Night Stalker Association. “As a volunteer-managed organization, keeping membership records updated had been a challenge. With Tendenci, our members can easily update their own data, which takes an enormous burden off our shoulders. Moving to an online application and payment process has fundamentally changed for the better the way we operate.”

The new website uses Tendenci’s donor and fundraising management to make online giving simple and uses Tendenci’s business directory capability to feature sponsoring organizations, such as Boeing, Cruz Associates Inc., Envisioneering Inc., Lockheed Martin and Rockwell Collins. These donations and sponsorships enable the Night Stalker Association to provide financial support to the soldiers and families of the 160th, including a scholarship program.

With Tendenci’s online event management and rich media management the Night Stalker Association can promote, manage and accept online payment for upcoming fundraising events, and then quickly and easily upload photos from events to an integrated photo gallery.

Tendenci Open Source CMS was released as an open source solution to give cause-related organizations greater freedom and control over their online presence. Tendenci has more than 1 million users and currently powers hundreds of websites for organizations around the world, including Metropolitan New York Library Council (www.metro.org), Houston Technology Center (www.houstontech.org) and DePelchin™ Children's Center (www.depelchin.org).
