Survey results from International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery show barriers coming down

HOUSTON, November 21, 2013 – Arocha Hair Restoration (www.arochahairrestoration.com), a leading provider of surgical hair transplants and medical treatment of hair loss, reports that the days of patients hiding their hair transplants may soon be over. According to results of the latest survey of members from the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (ISHRS), more than half of the respondents said patients were more likely to discuss their hair restoration procedures with their family and friends compared to 2010.

"We are seeing a considerable change in attitudes among patients, driven both by the natural and undetectable hair transplant results we can achieve through ultra refined follicular unit hair transplantation and by increasing societal acceptance of cosmetic surgery in general," said Dr. Bernard Arocha who established Arocha Hair Restoration in 2005 to focus entirely on helping men and women experiencing hair loss. "The fact that celebrities and sports stars such as Backstreet Boy A.J. McLean and Denver Bronco Wes Welker have been open about their hair transplants also has helped patients feel more comfortable showing off their results."

Dr. Arocha uses proven effective hair restoration techniques that use a person's own natural hair groupings or follicular units to achieve permanent and undetectable hair restoration results through a delicate balance of art and science.

"I approach the patient's hairline and scalp the way an artist approaches a canvas, only instead of using paint and a brush, I create my art using the patient's own natural hair," said Dr. Arocha.

Arocha Hair Restoration also stays on the leading edge of scientific and technology advances. Earlier this year, Arocha Hair Restoration was the first practice in Houston and one of the first practices in Texas to receive and begin using the ARTAS® Robotic System for hair restoration. The ARTAS Robotic System uses sophisticated imaging technology and precision robotics to locate and collect individual follicular units accurately and consistently, thousands of times in a single session.

Dr. Arocha is a Diplomat of the American Board of Hair Restoration Surgery and has performed more than 4,000 hair transplant surgeries, transplanting an estimated total of approximately 12 million follicles. He serves as a physician examiner for the American Board of Hair Restoration Surgery. Arocha Hair Restoration exclusively performs medical and surgical hair restoration procedures, focusing on ultra-refined follicular unit hair transplantation.
