Small Batch Series Featuring Taste of Russia Sure to Appeal to Craft Beer Lovers

HOUSTON, September 10, 2007 - Beer connoisseurs, get your taste buds ready. Big and stout will be the order of the day on September 11, 2007 when Saint Arnold Brewing Company will release the next installment in its limited edition Divine Reserve series. Saint Arnold Divine Reserve No. 5 is the latest creation in the unique single-batch series from the oldest craft brewery in Texas.

Saint Arnold Divine Reserve No. 5 is a Russian Imperial Stout, a style that has a reputation as big, black and enormously flavorful, and Divine Reserve No. 5 boldly follows that tradition. It was brewed with a variety of malts, including two-row pale, crystal, chocolate and roasted barley. Nugget, Willamette and Centennial hop varieties were used, as well as an American ale yeast.

Saint Arnold Divine Reserve No. 5 was inspired by the winning entry of the 2007 Big Batch Brew Bash homebrew competition. Mike Heniff, a highly decorated Houston homebrewer, created the winning recipe and earned the opportunity to help the crew at Saint Arnold brew the batch.

Saint Arnold Divine Reserve features small batches of high-quality, full-flavored beer. Each new batch features a unique recipe and is distinguished from its predecessors by the batch number on the neck label. Fewer than 1,300 cases of Saint Arnold Divine Reserve No. 5 have been produced.

"We''ve continued to increase the number of cases we produce of each Divine Reserve batch due to tremendous demand. At some locations, retailers have told us their customers line up on the release date just to get their hands on a case or six pack," said Brock Wagner, founder and chief executive officer of Houston-based Saint Arnold Brewing Company. "Divine Reserve No. 5 has a rich, malty body full of chocolate and coffee flavors, a palatable spiciness derived from the combination hops and high alcohol, and an intensity craft beer fans will crave."

Saint Arnold Divine Reserve No. 5 will be available for a limited time in Austin, Dallas, Houston and San Antonio. The previous four versions of this beer brand sold out quickly, and some are now being traded by beer connoisseurs who have let them age. Each six pack is priced between $12.99 and $13.99.

With a high alcohol by volume content of 10 percent, Saint Arnold Divine Reserve No. 5 is best enjoyed in small quantities at 45°F or warmer. It has an original gravity of 1.097 and final gravity of 1.029. More information on Divine Reserve No. 5 can be found at http://saintarnold.com/beers/divine.html.
